FEBRUARY 24TH & 25TH IN ATHENS

For this year's Women's Retreat, we will be keeping things local and having an in-town retreat at Redeemer!

The topic for this year's women's retreat is "Wilderness Provision: the beauty and necessity of God's Word". We will take a closer look at the wilderness theme in scripture in both the Old and New Testaments, and how God provides for his people in wilderness places through His Word. The story of scripture leads us to see that the Word of God is the Son of God, Jesus, and He is the ultimate provision for us. We will examine the world we live in and the challenges we face, and how Jesus gives light, joy, and provision in these places. Our focus will be on Matthew's gospel accounts of Jesus in the wilderness facing temptation (Matthew 4) and the parable of the seed and the sower (Matthew 13). Our prayer is that as a result of our time together we can say with the prophet Jeremiah: "Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and delight of my heart..." Jeremiah 15:16.
