The Book of Joshua is the continuation of God’s grand redemptive story that began in the Pentateuch. “but what does it have to say for me today?” Everything! It is a critical part in pushing God’s redemptive purposes forward and It speaks and instructs about life as a member of God’s people. Joshua and the people of Israel dealt with sin and death but also experienced the great mercy and love of God as they embarked on life in the Promised Land. As we study Joshua, remember the original context but also know that the themes and promises are just as much for believers and the church today as they were for Joshua and Israel.
