MISSIONARIES
ANDREW TERRELL
RUF International at Vanderbilt
Campus Minister
From Andrew: RUF International is the PCA’s ministry to international students studying in the U.S. Vanderbilt hosts over 2,000 international students from more than 100 countries, which means that in the one half square mile of Vandy’s campus, half the nations of the world are represented. Working in partnership with the local church, RUF-I’s mission is to welcome those students with biblical hospitality, explore Christianity with them, and equip them to serve in God’s Church around the globe.
CAYSIE ASHTON
RUF at University of Georgia
Campus Staff
From Caysie: RUF exists to reach students for Christ and equip them to serve! “Loving Jesus for a lifetime” is another phrase that is an animating force behind what we do. College students are a strategic population of students to reach because it’s a pivotal time to catch them as they leave their homes and start making their own decisions, but before they’re completely tossed into the real world.
AUSTIN ROYAL
RUF at Arkansas
Campus Minister
From Austin: Austin grew up in Macon, Georgia and attended undergrad at the University of Georgia where he studied Communication. Right after graduating he married his amazing wife Anna Caroline and moved to Baton Rouge where he served as an intern with RUF at LSU for two years. They learned to love college students and cook cajun food down in the bayou. He is a graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia where he received a Masters of Divinity with an emphasis in counseling. Before moving to Fayetteville he served as the RUF campus minister at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee for four years.
JOHN GORDY
RUF at University of Texas at Tyler
Campus Minister
From John: John grew up in Louisville, Georgia and attended UGA where he was heavily impacted by the ministry of RUF and Redeemer. After graduation, he worked in banking for a season, married his wife, Sarah, and graduated from Covenant Seminary. He has served PCA churches in both Alabama and Minnesota. Before moving to Tyler last summer, he served as the RUF campus minister at Valdosta State University for five years. RUF at UT Tyler exists to reach students for Christ and equip them to serve as we connect students to the local church. We are a community where no matter what your background or belief (or doubt), you can explore Christianity, grow in your understanding of Jesus, and learn what it looks like to walk with him.
ALEX BOSGRAF
RUF at Boise State University
Campus Staff
From Alex: As Campus Staff with RUF, I have the opportunity to engage with students as they explore what they believe and how they want to set up their lives through college and beyond. I love getting to study the Bible with them and help them see that they can read and study it on their own- whether that is in a small group Bible study setting or one-on-one. I get to help connect them to local churches, build community on campus, and walk through this stage of their lives with them in meaningful ways.
TOM HART
RUF at Furman
Campus Minister
From Tom: Tom Hart was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. While studying at the University of Georgia, he got involved with RUF, where he encountered Jesus for the first time. He also met his wife, Chané, in history class, who is originally from South Africa but grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. After college, Tom served as an RUF intern at Auburn University, then attended Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, then planted a new chapter of RUF at East Carolina University.
BEN COPPEDGE
RUF at UGA
Campus Minister
From Ben: UGA RUF is here to meet students where they are, as they are without leaving them stuck there. We say in RUF often, this isn’t a slogan for us. It’s our deep understanding of who God is and what his pursuit of us looks like. Meeting us where and as we are–for better and worse–but never leaving us as he found us.
This looks like a ministry with a “missionary culture”. Everything we do in RUF is aimed at deepening the faith of our believing students and equipping them for a lifetime of service in the Church; and planting and watering seeds of faith in Jesus for our unbelieving students.
We’re committed to being the missionary of our presbytery–sent by the churches of Athens as their behind-the-lines missionary at UGA and UNG Oconee.
KELLY JACKSON
RUF at Florida State University
Campus Minister
From Kelly: RUF is reaching students for Christ and equipping them to serve Him through our avenues (large group, small groups, 1-1s) on and around FSU’s campus. Our staff and students are a part of this word-centered ministry that offers weekly Bible studies, a corporate worship service, and lots of fun (like volleyball fridays) and fellowship to students to help them embrace faith in Jesus, learn how to grow in their faith, and practice Christian community that we hope they will carry with them into the local church and the rest of their lives.
JAMIE + JENNIFER BURKEMPER
Mission to the World
Team Leaders for MTW-Madrid
From the Burkempers: Jamie and Jen lead a church-planting team with a vision to establish Reformed churches and university ministries across Northern Spain. They have partnered with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Spain and Reformed University Fellowship-Global (RUF-G) to plant churches and disciple the next generation in a country where evangelical believers make up less than 1% of the population. Their first church plant in Madrid will serve as a launching pad, training new missionaries and national leaders before they are sent out to plant more churches and RUF ministries.
BARUSH + LANU SANCHEZ
Reformed University Fellowship (RUF Global) Mexico City
Campus Minister
From Barush: RUF Mexico has brought renewal to the Presbyterian Church in Mexico and has helped restore the broken hearts of young people who had left the church from various denominations. RUF Mexico has served the student community by providing support during critical moments of anxiety, depression, and school dropout.
JOE + LIZ MAY
China Outreach Ministries
Team leader at UGA
From Joe: We seek to befriend, share Christ with and disciple Chinese students and scholars (S&S) at the Univ. of Georgia. We use gathering events (socials, English classes, trips, church activities) to meet the Chinese and follow up with those who are interested in spiritual issues. We seek to expose them to God’s Word and God’s people.

CARSON + WILLIAMSON G.
Cafe 1040
Currently Director of Communications (Carson); training to move overseas as Overseas Missionaries and Mentors
From the Will + Carson: Cafe 1040 works alongside the local church to lead a generation to tell the story of Jesus where it has never been told, until there are disciples of Jesus in every people group. This is done primarily through a 3 month overseas missions mentorship program for young adults interested in long-term mission work. As missionaries, Carson and Williamson pray that the people of Central Asia would know Jesus as King, and that the local church would grow and flourish. As mentors, Carson and Williamson pray for a deeper knowing of Christ in the lives of young adults participating in this 3 month program, and that they would find confidence and clarity in their calling overseas.
